Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri confirmed that the Lebanese-Israeli negotiations begin today at nine o’clock Washington time, stressing that if a real ceasefire does not occur, it means that everything is “ruined.” He said, in a press interview, “We do not accept anything less than the withdrawal of the Israeli army, then reconstruction, the deployment of the Lebanese army, and the return of the people.” Berri stressed that all the aggression, destruction and crimes committed by Israel against Lebanon and the southerners are being documented. He stressed that Lebanon will move to sue Israel for the attacks and crimes it committed, in a position that reflects its commitment that war and destruction will not pass without legal and political accountability. He stressed that Lebanon cannot emerge from its current crisis without a regional and international umbrella that helps stabilize stability.
